Gail slithered her way past the first 100-mile mark today. Go, Gail! Gail is kind of a super mutant snail because despite being anatomically predisposed to being slower than her turtle counterpart from 2010, she is about 22 days ahead of where he was last year. If Gail can keep it up and not get injured, she should have no problem sliming her way to that 1000-mile finish line. :)
Great run today. I decided to do long intervals, 8 minutes running/2 minutes walking. It ended up being exactly what I needed. Once I got past the first 10 minutes of warming up, all my intervals were progressively faster and all below 10 min/mile. My last interval was below 9 min/mile.
My overall pace was 10:11 min/mile which is excellent considering 14 minutes out of the 72 was walking. And since I had those nice walk breaks I felt like I could go longer without killing myself which is why I went past the hour. I was feeling good.
I'm going to work this kind of treadmill workout into my routine once a week as long as I'm dependent on the treadmill for awhile. I really miss my running routes with hillwork (I can't believe I just said that). Remind of that in the Spring when it's getting hot, humid, and buggy.
Missed CF last night because my hairdresser called to move up my appt since today and tomorrow are shot from the weather. I will try to get there tomorrow but if it doesn't happen I can't fight Mother Nature.
