Overall, it was a good week. My before work runs have come down in pace. My long run, although shorter than the last 2 weeks, was really strong. Today -- ON VACATION -- I got up at 7 and ran around the hotel property. It was boring because I did the same loop 3 times for a total of 4.3 miles but at least I did it. It was important that I get it in and finish my first official training week on a good note and I feel like I did. It's super hot and very humid. I went through 16 ounces of water in 4 miles and I can usually make 12 ounces last 10 miles. I felt winded but I think that's the air quality getting to me. My total mileage for the week was 22.48 and that's where I'd like to be for a lower mileage week. Next week's official mileage is 17 and I'd like to hit 24ish. Stay strong, that's the goal.
After my run I enjoyed a great vacation day -- the candy and pretzel factories, SONIC, the mall, and a nice swim. The nice thing about getting the run out of the way in the morning was I could enjoy my day guilt free. Tomorrow is my rest day (yay!) and I'll hit it again on Tuesday.
